SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Sagaing Region and Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin State, scattered in Chin State, fairly widespread in Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (2.76) inches in Gyobingauk, (2.28) inches in Maubin, (2.08) inches in Payathonsu, (1.93) inches in Kungyangon, (1.69) inches in Ngathaichaung, (1.41) inches in Mogoke, (1.34) inches in Pandaung, (1.26) inches in Myaungmya and (1.18) inches in Phyarpon.

BAY INFERENCE:  According to the observations at (13:30)hrs MST today, the low pressure area over North Andaman Sea now lies over North Andaman Sea and adjoining East central Bay of Bengal. It may further intensify into a depression over Central Bay of Bengal during next (24)hours. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Bay and East central Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th October, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Shan States, Scattered in Chin and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas are likely off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-11) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 10th October, 2020: Isolated rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).
