SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Bgo, Ayeyarwady Regions and Eastern Shan State, scattered in Upper Sagaing, Magway, Yangon Regions and Kachin, Southern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions and Northern Shan, Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing Region and isolated heavyfalls in Magway Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (3.56) inches in Payathonsu, (2.52) inches in Kunlong, (2.40) inches in Kawthaung, (2.35) inches in Dawei, (2.21) inches in Shwebo, (2.17) inches in Pathein, (1.97) inches in Kani, (1.64) inches each in Kyaukmyaung and Saw, (1.45) inches in Yangon(Kaba-Aye), (1.31) inches in Hakha and (1.22) inches in Mudon.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and East central Bay of Bengal. Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (13:30) hrs MST today, the low pressure area over Cambodia is reaching Gulfoff Thailand and moving to westwards. It is likely to cross Southern Thailand and Southern Myanmarareas on tonight. It is forecast to reach the Andaman Sea at (9.10.2020).
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th October, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, (Southern and Eastern)Shan, Kayah States, Scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kachin, Northern Shan, Rakhine States, fairly widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of thundery activities in the Southern Myanmar areas.
