SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin, Eastern Shan and Mon States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Chin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (3.27) inches in Tiddim, (2.68) inches in Maungdaw, (1.73) inches in Sittwe, (1.57) inches in Gwa, (1.50) inches in Putao, (1.46) inches in Thandaunggyi, (1.42) inches in Loikaw, (1.34) inches each in Tongzan, Kyauktaw and Manaung, (1.18) inches in Machanbaw, (1.14) inches each in Pinlaung and Sagaing and (1.10) inches in Thandwe.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 22nd August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Bago Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5 –8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
