BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 19th August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin, Northern Shan and Chin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (9 – 12) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and about (5 - 7) feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Rakhine State.
