BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 19th August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavy falls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Mandalay and Yangon Regions, Kachin, Shan(North and South) and Chin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic,off and along Rakhine Coast. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (8 – 11) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coast and about (5 - 7) feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Rakhine State.
