SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Yangon Regions and Northern Shan, Rakhine States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (5.51) inches each in Phyarpon and Labutta, (5.35) inches in Kungyangon, (5.08) inches in Hainggyigyun, (4.25) inches in Paung, (3.77) inches in Thaton, (3.74) inches in Hpa-an(Agro-Met), (3.54) inches in Thandwe, (3.46) inches in Thipaw, (3.31) inches in Hkamti, (3.11) inches in Mawlamyine, (2.95) inches in Kyeikkhame, (2.87) inches in Chaungsone, (2.59) inches each in Sittwe and Manaung and (2.48) inches in Myitkyina.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Coastal Odisha and West Bengal coasts (India) still persists. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and vigorous elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 15th August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic,off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar Waters. Wave height will be about (9 – 15) feet Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (6-8) feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Rakhine State.
