SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Magway Regions, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Eastern Shan, Chin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Rakhine State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (4.57) inches in Mudon, (4.21) inches in Dawei, (4.05) inches in Kawthaung, (3.54) inches in Launglon, (3.46) inches in Kyeikmayaw, (3.25) inches in Paing Kyone, (3.08) inches in Kyeikdon, (3.07) inches in Ye, (3.03) inches each in Gwa and Mawlamyine, (2.76) inches in Okkan, (2.60) inches in Hlaingbwe, (2.49) inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, (2.24) inches in Myeik, (2.21) inches in Yangon(Mingaladon) and (2.09) inches each in Putao and Chaungsone.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area has formed over Northwest Bay of Bengal off North Odisha and West Bengal coasts(India). Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 14th August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway Regions, fairly widespread in (Northern and Eastern) Shan, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8 – 12) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of increase of rain in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine, Kayin, Mon States.
