SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw and Upper Sagaing Region, fairly widespread in Bago and Yangon Regions, Northern Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (3.90) inches in Hkamti, (2.04) inches in Kyeikdon, (2.01) inches in Manaung, (1.97) inches in Putao, (1.89) inches in Tongzan, (1.81) inches in Bhamo, (1.70) inches in Myitkyina, (1.62) inches in Kawthaung, (1.46) inches each in Zalun and Paung, (1.14) inches in Mindat, (1.10) inches in Homalin, (1.02) inches in Matupi, (0.83) inch in Nanyun and (0.79) inch in Ramthlo.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the Northwest and adjoining Westcentral Bay of Bengal off Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts still persists over Northwest Bay of Bengal off north Odisha-Gangetic West Bengal coasts. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 10th August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Northern Shan and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (6 – 9) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate monsoon.
