BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Tropical Derpression “Sinlaku” over the Laos is moving slowly westwards. It is forecast to downgrade to the low pressure area.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 03rd August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Lower Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, (Southern and Eastern) Shan State. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (10-14) off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong to vigorous monsoon.
