BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
SPECIAL FEATURES: According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Tropical Storm “Sinlaku”over the Gulf of Tomkin and is centered at about (105) miles Southeast of Hanoi(Vietnam). It is forecast to move Westwards and cross the Upper Vietnam.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 02nd August, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing and Magway Regions, Kachin and Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavy falls in Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon–Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (9-12) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon–Taninthayi Coasts and about (5-8) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan, Rakhine, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
