SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Magway Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Mandalay Region, Shan(North and East) State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and isolated heavyfalls in Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (3.78) inches in Belin, (2.91) inches in Phyarpon, (2.83) inches each in Hlainggyigyun and Launglon, (2.71) inches in Dawei, (2.64) inches in Central Yangon, (2.60) inches in Kungyangon, (2.44) inches in Naypyitaw(Otarathiri), (2.40) inches in Hkamti, (2.36) inches each in Machanbaw, Kyaukpyu and Thaton, (2.33) inches in Loikaw, (2.20) inches in Taunggu, (2.17) inches in Myothit, (2.09) inches in Hpa-an, (2.05) inches in Paung, (1.97) inches in Naypyitaw(Zabuthiri), (1.89) inches in Kalewa, (1.86) inches in Namsam, (1.81) inches in Yangon (North Dagon), (1.66) inches in Putao and (1.65) inches in Thandaunggyi.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and weak elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30thJuly, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Kachin, Eastern Shan and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon – Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Sea will be slight to moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-9) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –Taninthayi Coasts and about (4-7) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States.
