SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past
(24) hours, rain or thundershowers has been in isolated in Lower Sagaing,
Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Southern Shan and Kayah States
and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls
in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Kachin State. The noteworthy
amount of rainfall recorded were (5.04) inches in Kyauktaw, (4.77) inches in
Thandwe, (4.45) inches in Taungkok, (4.13) inches in Kyaukpyu, (3.86) inches
in Sittwe, (3.31) inches in Maungdaw, (3.07) inches in Mogaung, (2.87) inches
in Coco Island, (2.80) inches in Hainggyigyun, (2.59) inches in Kalewa, (2.32)
inches in Monyin, (2.26) inches in Kataingti, (2.20) inches in Kyeikkhame,
(2.13) inches in Mawlaik, (2.05) inches Manaung and (2.01) inches in Ye.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and South
Bay and strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6thJuly, 2020: Rain or
thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions,
Southern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw and
Lower Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and
States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and
isolated heavy falls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree
of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic,
off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach
(35-40) m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters.
Wave height will be about (9-12) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine
Coasts and about (5-8) feet Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon –
Taninthayi Coasts
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak to moderate monsoon.
