SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers has been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region, Chin and Kayin States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (9.76) inches in Kyauktaw, (8.98) inches in Myauk U, (8.70) inches in Paletwa, (8.11) inches in Kyaukpyu, (5.20) inches in Taungkok, (5.12) inches in Hkamti, (4.73) inches in Sittwe, (4.33) inches in Ann, (4.02) inches in Gwa, (3.86) inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, (3.62) inches in Maungdaw, (3.23) inches in Chaungsone and (3.03) inches in Mudon.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 19th June, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Mandalay Region, fairly widespread in Northern Shan and Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30 - 35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (7-10) feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about (4-7) feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Weak to moderate monsoon.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 19th June, 2020:    One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is (100%).
