SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers has been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Bago and Yangon Regions, Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (8.27) inches in Okkan, (8.19) inches in Thandwe, (4.80) inches in Taungkok, (4.49) inches in Kyeikkhame, (3.78) inches in Ye, (3.66) inches each in Myauk U and Shwekyin, (3.58) inches in Kyauktaw, (3.38) inches in Coco Island, (3.27) inches in Maungdaw, (3.19) inches in Launglon, (3.15) inches in Shan-Ywar-Thit, (3.14) inches in Mawlamyine, (3.07) inches in Madauk, (2.95) inches in Chaungsone, (2.87) inches in Kyaukpyu, (2.83) inches in Manaung and (2.80) inches in Dawei.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 18th June, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing and  Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Rakhine and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Chin and Kayin States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (30-35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7-11) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Moderate to strong monsoon.
