SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours,

rain or thundershowers has been fairly widespread in Kachin State, scattered in Sagaing

Region and Shan(North and East)State and isolated in Mandalay, Magway and Taninthayi

Regions, Chin, Kayin and Mon States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining

Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) above May average temperature in Mon

State, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Magway,

Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan(South and East) and Kayin States

and (2°C) above May average temperatures in Mandalay Region, Chin, Rakhine and Kayah

States and about May average temperatures in Kachin and Northern Shan States. The

significant day temperatures were (43°C) in Chauk, (41°C) each in Kyemone(Agro- Met),

Myingyan, Magway, Gangaw, Pauk, Sinbyugyun and Bawlakhae and (40°C) each in Kalewa,

Monywa, Ye U, Myinmu, Minbu and Aunglan. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded

were (1.81) inches in Mogoke, (1.38) inches in Bhamo, (0.67) inch each in Myinkyina and

Shwegu, (0.64) inch in Katha, (0.35) inch in Putao, (0.28) inch each in Myitson and Aunglan

and (0.24) inch in Mongyang.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak to moderate over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay

and weather is a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 25th May, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be

fairly widespread in Kachin state, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions,

Northern Shan State and isolated in Mandalay, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions,

Eastern Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather

will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about

(5 - 8)feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of thundery activities in the Deltaic

areas.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 25th May, 2020:    Partly

cloudy.

FORECAST FOR YANGON AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 25th May, 2020:        Partly

cloudy to cloudy.
