SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Sourthern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay Region, Chin, Rakhine and Mon States and isolated in Sagaing and Bago Regions, Northern Shan and Kayin States. Weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Shan(South and East), Kayah and Mon States and (2°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway and Bago Regions, Northern Shan, Rakhine and Kayin States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (41°C) each in Tatkon and Minbu and (40°C) each in Kyemone(Agro- Met), Myinmu, Lunkyaw(Agro- Met), Chauk and Magway. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (1.54) inches in Chaungsone, (1.42)inches in Machanbaw, (1.22)inches in Putao, (0.87)inch in Hlaingtat, (0.55)inch each in Matupi and Paung, (0.47) inch in Paletwa, (0.43)inch in Meiktila, (0.39)inch in Myauk U and (0.35) inch in Dawei.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is weak over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and weather is a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 24th May, 2020: Weather will be partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Kachin State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Shan(North and South), Chin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5 - 8)feet in off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of weak monsoon over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay Bengal.
