BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (05:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm(AMPHAN) over the West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay of Bengal has moved to Northwards. It is centered at about (120)Nautical miles South-Southeast of Paradip(Odisha-India), about (195) Nautical miles South of Digha(india), about (280) Nautical miles Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh), about (330)Nautical miles West- Southwest of Maungdaw and about (345) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Sittwe (Myanmar). Weather is cloudy over the West Central Bay and Northwest Bay and partly cloudy and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 20th May, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Eastern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Magway Region and (Northern and Southern) Shan States and widespread in the remaining regions and States and isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago and Yangon Regions, Chin, Rakhine and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced off and along Deltaic, Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (45)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (10-16) feet off and along Deltaic, Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States.
