BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (12:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Super Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN) over the West Central Bay of Bengal weakened into an Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm and has moved to North-Northeastwards. It is centered at about (240)Nautical miles South of Paradip(Odisha-India), about (320) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Digha(india), about (390) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh), about (450)Nautical miles West-Southwest of Pathein and about (450) Nautical miles West-Southwest of Gwa (Myanmar). Weather is cloudy over the West Central Bay and Northwest Bay and partly cloudy and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 20th May, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States, fairly widespread in Sagaing and Magway Regions, Northern Shan and Kayah States and scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region, Kachin and Eastern Shan States and isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced off and along Deltaic, Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (45)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (10-16) feet off and along Deltaic, Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at time off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-10) feet off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavy falls in Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin and Rakhine States.
