BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (18:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN) over South Bay of Bengal has moved to Northwards slowly and further intensified into a Very Severe Cyclonic Storm (AMPHAN). It is centered at about (515)Nautical miles South of Paradadip (Odisha-India), about (595) Nautical miles South-Southwest of Digha(india), about (660) Nautical miles Southwest of Khepupara (Bangladesh), about (450)Nautical miles West-Southwest of Coco-Island and about (590) Nautical miles Southwest of Pathein (Myanmar).Weather is cloudy over the South Bay and West Central Bay and partly cloudy and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 18th May, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady  Regions, Kachin, Rakhine and Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Deltaic, RakhineCoasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8-12) feet off and along Deltaic, RakhineCoasts.Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely attime off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-TaninthayiCoasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (7-9) feet off and along Gulf of Mottama, Mon-TaninthayiCoasts.
