SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, Weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin, Rakhine and Kayin States, rain or thundershowers has been fairly widespread in Northern Shan State, scattered in Lower Sagaing Region, Kachin, Shan(South and East) and Kayah States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) to (6°C) above May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States, (3°C) to (4°C) above May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Eastern Shan, Chin and Rakhine States and (2°C) above May average temperature in Southern Shan State and (2°C) below May average temperature in Kachin State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States.The significant day temperatures were (46°C) in Chauk, (44°C) each in Nyaung Oo, Minbu, Magway, Taungdwingyi and Gangaw and (43°C) each in Monywa, Myinmu, Myingyan, Aunglan, Pauk and Sinbyugyun. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (2.12) inches in Mogoke, (1.02) inches in Tamu, (0.80) inch Lashio, (0.63) inch in Thipaw, (0.60) inch in Namsam, (0.39) inch in Gangaw and (0.28) inch in Kunglong.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It may further intensify into a depression over South Bay of Bengal to night and as a Cyclonic Storm on (16.5.2020) night. It is very likely to move Northwest wards initially and then recurve North-Northeast wards towards North Bay of Bengal after (17.5.2020). Weather is cloudy over the South Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th May, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Northern Shan State and isolated in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan(South and East), Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5-7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Rain or thundershowers in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
