SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Eastern Shan state. Rain or thundershowers has been widespread in Bago Region, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah States, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Southern Shan, Chin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (2°C) above May average temperatures in Kachin and Mon States, (3°C) below May average temperatures in Mandalay Region and Chin State and (2°C) below May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, Southern Shan and Kayah States and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were (40°C) each in Chauk and Ann and (39°C) each in Magway, Bago, Hmawbi, Thaton and Theinzayet. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were (2.80) inches in Hlegu, (1.26) inches in Zaung Tu, (1.06) inches in Yangon(Mingladon), (1.03) inches in Tharrawady, (0.79) inch in Okkan, (0.75) inch each in Madauk, Phyarpon and Kyeikkhame, (0.71) inch in Maubin, (0.59) inch in Naypyitaw Airport(Ela) and (0.55) inch in Paung.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the low pressure area over the South Andaman Sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal still persists. It may further intensify into a depression during next (72) hours and it is likely to move North-Northwest wards gradually. Weather is cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Southeast Bay and a few cloud to partly cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 03rd May, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Magway Region and Rakhine State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Taninthayi Regions, Northern Shan State and fairly widespread in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (6-8) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of scattered rain or thundershowers in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin, Kayah, Kayin and Mon States.
