SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, weather has been partly cloudy to cloudy in Upper Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions, Kachin, (Northern and Eastern)Shan and Chin States and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (2°C) above January average temperatures in Kachin and Northern Shan States and (3°C) above January average temperatures in Eastern Shan and Kayin States and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (3°C) in Pinlaung, (4°C) each in Heho and Ramthlo, (5°C) each in Namsam and Hakha, (6°C) each in Tongzan, Pyinoolwin and Mogoke and (7°C) in Tiddim.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and generally fair elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 9th January, 2020: Light rain will be isolated in Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy to cloudy in Sagaing and Taninthayi Regions and Chin State and generally fair in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be slight to moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (4 – 6) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of slight decrease of night temperatures in Shan and Kayah States.
