SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Chin State, fairly widespread in Southern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay Region, Kachin and Rakhine States and isolated in Upper Sagaing and Magway Regions, Northern Shan State and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Sagaing, Magway, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Eastern Shan, Chin, Kayin and Mon States, (5°C) to (6°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region, Kachin, Rakhine and Kayah States, (7°C) above January average temperatures in Shan (North and South) State and about January average temperatures in Yangon and Taninthayi Regions. The significant night temperatures were (6°C) in Hakha, (7°C) in Tongzan and (8°C) each in Mindat and Tiddim. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Loilin and Sittwe (0.20)inch each, Mindat and Falam (0.16)inch each and Vaar and Myauk U (0.12)inch each.

BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 4th January, 2020: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin and Chin States, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Shan State, scattered in Magway Region and Rakhine State and isolated in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and Kayah State. Degree of certainty is (100%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5 – 7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of scattered to fairly widespread rain or thundershowers in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin and Rakhine States.
