SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain have been scattered in Southern Shan State and isolated in Northern Shan State and weather has been partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Night temperatures were (7°C) above January average temperature in Southern Shan State and (5°C) above January average temperature in Kayah State, (3°C) to (4°C) above January average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Magway Region, Eastern Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and (2°C) above January average temperatures in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Northern Shan State and about January average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant night temperatures were (2°C) in Hakha, (5°C) in Putao, (6°C) in Mingin, (7°C) each in Mindat and Tongzan and (8°C) each in Manchanbaw, Tiddim and Ramthlo. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Lashio (0.12)inch and Namsam (0.04)inch.
BAY INFERENCE: Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the Andaman Sea and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 2nd January, 2020: Rain will be fairly widespread in Shan and Chin States, scattered in Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin State and isolated in Naypyitaw, Magway, Bago, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine and Kayah States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.
STATE OF THE SEA: Sea will be moderate in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (5 – 7) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Scattered rain in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin, Shan, Chin and Rakhine States.
