SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing and Magway Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Paung (16.02)inches, Mawlamyine (13.86)inches, Launglon (8.82)inches, Kyeikmayaw (8.78)inches, Myeik (8.35)inches, Kya-In-Seikkyi (7.72)inches, Dawei (7.48)inches, Kyeikdon (5.24)inches, Yay (4.96)inches, Mudon (4.45)inches, Homalin (3.23)inches, Hpa-an(Agro-Met) (3.15)inches, Monyin and Chaungsone (2.99)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE:  Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and South Bay and moderate elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 11th August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in  Sagaing and Magway Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago and Yangon Regions, Rakhine and Kayah States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar  waters. Wave height will be about (9 –11) feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (4 – 8) feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
