SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing and Mandalay Regions, Kachin and Chin States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and  Rakhine State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Bago, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kataingti  (6.25)inches, Gwa (5.51)inches, Thandwe (5.39)inches, Kyeikkhame (5.16)inches, Paing Kyone (5.02)inches, Shwekyin (5.00)inches , Mudon (4.92)inches, Kawkareik (4.84)inches, Myaungmya (4.80)inches, Hlaingbwe (4.72)inches, Launglon (4.57)inches, Manaung (4.37)inches, Taungkok and Pathein (4.25) inches each, Myeik (4.18)inches, Kyaukphyu and Madauk (4.09)inches each and Labutta (4.06)inches.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, a low pressure area has formed over the North Bay of Bengal. It is forecast to intensify during next (48)hrs. Monsoon is vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 06th August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Kachin and Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Eastern Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Bago, Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States. Degree of certainty is (100%).

STATE OF THE SEA:  Frequent squalls with rough to very rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45) m.p.h. Wave height will be about (10– 15)feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS:  Strong to vigorous monsoon.
