SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24)hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Bago and Ayeyarwady Regions, Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw and Sagaing Region. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Yay (5.67)inches, Thandwe (4.41)inches, Kyeikdon (4.12) inches, Kawkareik (3.39)inches, Mudon and Launglon (3.35)inches each, Taungkok (3.27)inches, Hlaingbwe (3.23) inches, Kya-In-Seikkyi (3.12)inches, Kalewa (3.10)inches, Dawei (3.03)inches, Manaung (2.76)inches, Mawlaik, Paing Kyone and Theinzayet (2.72)inches each, Myeik (2.65)inches, Nyaung Shwe (2.64)inches, Yeu (2.56)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (2.46)inches, Kyaukpyu (2.21)inches, Mawlamyine (2.05)inches and Naypyitaw Airport (Ela) and Payarthonsu (1.97)inches each.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 02nd August, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay and Magway Regions, fairly widespread in Lower Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in  Lower Sagaing, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions. STATE OF THE SEA:  Squalls with rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35-40)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (8 – 11) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region, Shan, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States.
