SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay and Magway Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, (Northern and Southern)Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Bago Region, Eastern Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mandalay Region, Rakhine and Kayin States and isolated heavyfalls in Lower Sagaing, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Gwa (9.06)inches, Hlaingbwe (5.87)inches, Shwegwin (5.08)inches, Coco Island (4.87)inches, Manaung (4.09)inches, Paung (3.74)inches, Pathien (3.58)inches, Putao (3.55)inches, Shan-Ywar-Thit (3.24)inches, PaingKyone (3.22)inches, Kamamaung (2.42)inches, Hainggyigyun and Thaton (2.17)inches each, Hpa-an(Agro-met) (1.89) inches and NyaungOo (1.85)inches.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay and East central Bay and moderate elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th July, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing, Mandalay and Magway Regions, Southern Shan and Kayah States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region, (Northern and Eastern) Shan and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfall in Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing ,Yangon, Ayeyarwady and Taninthayi Regions and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is (100%).
STATE OF THE SEA:Squalls with rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (35)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (8 - 10)feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts and about (5 – 7)feet in off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Bago and Taninthayi Regions, Kayin and Mon States.
