SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Ayeyarwady Regions, Kachin and Kayin States and isolated in Upper Sagaing Bago and Yangon Regions, Northern Shan, Rakhine and Mon States. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Magway Regions and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C)to (6°C) above May normal temperatures in Bago Region, Shan and Kayah States, (3°C) to (4°C) above May normal temperatures in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Chin, Kayin and Mon States, (2°C) above May normal temperatures in Rakhine State and about May normal temperature in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State. The significant day temperatures were (46°C) in Chauk, (45°C) in Gangaw and (44°C) each in Myingyan, Nyaung Oo, Magway and Taunggu. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Launglon (2.44)inches, Kawthaung (1.77)inches, Coco Island (0.98)inch,  Dawei (0.66)inch, Muse (0.51)inch, Bhamo and Hpa-an(Agro)(0.39)inch each and Putao and Hlaingbwe (0.35)inch each.

BAY INFERENCE:   According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Extremely Severe Cyclonic Storm "FANI" over the Westcentral and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Westcentral Bay and it is centered at about (360)miles South-Southwest of Puri, (220)miles South- Southeast of Vishakhapatnam(India). It is forecast to move Northwestwards. Weather is partly cloudy over the North Bay and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 2nd May, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Kayin and Mon States and isolated in the remaining Regions and States. Degree of certainty is (80%).

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40-45)m.p.h. Wave height will be about (10-13) feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of rain or thundershowers in Lower Myanmar areas.
