SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED AT 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past (24) hours, rain or thundershowers have been widespread in Taninthayi Region, scattered in Kachin State and isolated in Upper Sagaing and Yangon Regions, Eastern Shan, Kayin and Mon States. Weather has been generally fair in Naypyitaw and Lower Sagaing Region and partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States. Day temperatures were (5°C) above April normal temperatures in (Northern and Southern)Shan and Kayah States, (3°C) to (4°C) above April normal temperatures in Sagaing, Mandalay, Magway, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Eastern Shan, Chin, Kayin and Mon States, (2°C) above April normal temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Rakhine State and about April normal temperature in Kachin State. The significant day temperatures were (46°C) in Chauk, (45°C) in Gangaw and (44°C) each in Myingyan, Nyaung Oo, Minbu, Magway, Taungdwingyi, Pauk, Taunggu and Bawlakhae. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were Kawthaung (1.18)inches, Launglon (0.91)inch, Myeik (0.55)inch, Coco Island (0.20)inch and Putao, Kawkareik and Dawei (0.12)inch each.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at (13:30)hrs M.S.T today, the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm "FANI" over the Southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining Southwest Bay of Bengal has moved Northwards. It is centered at about (345)miles East-Southeast of Chennai (India), (370)miles Southeast of Machilipatnam and (360)miles South-Southeast of Vishakhapatnam. It is forecast to move Northwestwards. Weather is a few cloud over the North Bay and cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere in the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 1st May, 2019: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Taninthayi Region, fairly widespread in Kayin and Mon States, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region, Kachin State and isolated in Mandalay, Bago, Yangon and Ayeyarwady Regions, Shan, Chin and Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is (80%). Weather will be partly cloudy in the remaining Regions and States.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach (40)m.p.h. Sea will be moderate to rough elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about (10-12) feet Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon- Taninthayi Coasts and about (6-9) feet off and along Rakhine Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuation of likelihood of rain or thundershowers in Lower Myanmar areas.
