SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Kayah, Rakhine States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Kayin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Kachin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.33 inches in Belin, 3.50 inches in Putao, 2.40 inches in Dedaye, 2.12 inches in Hakha, 1.98 inches in Mong Khat, 1.89 inches in  Kungyangon, 1.69 inches each in Gyobingauk, Phyarpon and Machbaw, 1.42 inches in Bago and 1.26 inches in Thanlyin. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the North Bay and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 7th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Rakhine, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Chin State, widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Mon State. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Eastern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
