SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Magway Region and Kayah, Chin States, scattered in Mandalay, Bago Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region and Kachin, Rakhine States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.31 inches in Sittwe, 3.78 inches in Putao, 3.46 inches in Mogoke, 2.40 inches in Mawlamyine, 2.28 inches in Phyarpon, 2.20 inches in Khayan, 2.17 inches in Loilin, 2.05 inches in Monghsat, 1.75 inches in Bogale and 1.73 inches in Lashio. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather will be a few cloud over the Southwest and Westcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 6th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Kayah, Chin States, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing Region and Kachin State. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in  Yangon, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Eastern Shan States.
