SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Magway Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.82 inches in Kalewa, 3.27 inches in Hinthada, 2.87 inches in Mawlamyine, 2.69 inches in Tharrawaddy, 2.56 inches in Kyaukpyu, 2.00 inches in Kyeiklat, 1.81 inches in Kalay, 1.69 inches in Shwekyin, 1.67 inches in Okpho and 1.65 inches each in Machanbaw and Tiddim. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather will be a few cloud over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5th September 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin,, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin State. 

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR 5th September 2026:     One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 100%.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, widespread in Yangon Region and scattered in Mandalay Region.
