SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Kayah State, scattered in Naypyitaw, Mandalay Region and Chin State, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Mon State and isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.43 inches each in Hainggyigyun and Chaungsone, 4.85 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 4.81 inches in Mudon, 4.76 inches each in Myeik and Belin, 4.25 inches in Mawlamyine, 4.13 inches in Labutta, 4.06 inches in Kyonpyaw, 3.44 inches in Kya-In-Seikkyi, 3.35 inches in Theinzayet and 3.11 inches in Kyeikkhame.
BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal- North Odisha coasts, India still persists. It is likely to move West- Northwestwards and across North Odisha - Gangetic West Bengal, India during next 48 hours. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway Region and Chin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon Sataes and isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, (Southern and Eastern) Shan states. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 11-13 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Shan States.
