SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Magway Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Naypyitaw, Lower Sagaing Region, scattered in Bago, Upper Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Yangon, Mandalay Regions and Chin, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin State and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon state. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 6.70 inches in Paing Kyone, 6.57 inches in Ye, 5.04 inches each in Dawei and Hpa-an, 5.00 inches in Bogale, 4.76 inches in Kawkareik, 4.69 inches in Belin, 4.49 inches in Labutta, 3.82 inches in Myeik, 3.54 inches in Hlaingbwe and 3.23 inches in Thaton. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate over elsewhere Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and over elsewhere Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 28th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Magway Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Bago, Lower Sagaing  Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan states. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States.
