BAY INFERENCE According to the observations at 17:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal - North Odisha coasts, India intensified into a Well Marked Low Pressure Area.  It is likely to move Northwestwards and concentrate into a Depression during next 24 hrs.Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL NOON OF THE 17th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway ,Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Bago,Magway, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing,  Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: : Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 mph.  . Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine and Eastern Shan States.
