BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 15:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal - North Odisha coasts, India still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and become more marked during next 24 hrs Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway and Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Kachin, Kayah and Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing,  Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: : Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 mph.  . Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine and Eastern Shan States.
