SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Lower Sagaing Region. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region, scattered in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Magway, Kayah, (Northern and Southern) Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon State and  isolated heavyfalls in Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.29 inches in Belin, 4.00 inches in Danubyu, 3.54 inches in Hpa-an, 3.23 inches each in Ngathaichaung and Mudon, 3.10 inches each in Hlaingbwe(Shwegwin) and Thaton, 3.07 inches in Chaungsone, 2.95 inches in Hlainebwe, 2.88  inches in Dawei and 2.59 inches in Kawkariek.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 13:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining West Bengal - North Odisha coasts, India still persists. It is likely to move Northwestwards and become more marked during next 24 hrs Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 17th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway and Sagaing Regions, in Mandalay, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Kachin, Kayah and Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway,  Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena. 

STATE OF THE SEA: : Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 mph.  . Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts and about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Taninthayi Region and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine and Eastern Shan States.
