SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Northern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah, Chin, Eastern Shan States, scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and Southern Shan State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Bago Region and  Kachin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Ayeyarwady Region and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.75 inches in Kawkareik, 4.57 inches in Manaung, 4.33 inches in Ye, 3.50 inches in Kyaiklat, 3.39 inches in Mawlamyinegyun, 3.28 inches in Myaungmya, 3.23 inches each in Pathein and Dedaye, 3.15 inches in Thaton, 3.03 inches in Phyarpon and 2.90 inches in Bogale. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 16th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Northern Shan State, scattered in Mandalay, Magway Regions and Chin, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayah States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Bago, Magway, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
