SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Northern Shan State. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah State, scattered in Mandalay, Taninthayi Regions and Eastern Shan State, fairly widespread in Magway Region and  Chin, Southern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Mon,  Rakhine States and  isolated heavyfalls in Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.19 inches in Mudon, 4.81 inches in Sittwe, 4.25 inches in Chaungsone, 4.17 inches in Dedaye, 4.06 inches in Mawlamyine, 4.01 inches in Phyarpon, 3.70 inches in Kyeikkhame, 3.66 inches in Kyeikmayaw, 3.60 inches in Kyaukphyu and 3.50 inches in Kyanpyaw. 

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 13:30 hrs MST today, the Well Marked Low Pressure Area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal, West Bengal Coastal, India and adjoining Bangladesh has moved Northwestwards and intensify into a Depression over the West Bengal, india. It is centered at about 315 miles West- Northwest of Sittwe (Myanmar), 5 miles Northwest of Canning and 25 miles Southeast of Kolkata, India. Weather is a few cloud to partly cloudy over the South Andaman Sea and South Bay and partly cloudy to cloudy over the North  Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the  Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 14th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Lower Sagaing Region and Kayah, Northern Shan States, fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Upper Sagaing Regions and (Southern and Eastern) Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%. 

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and  Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena. 

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated heavyfalls in  Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
