SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, Rain or thundershowers have been isolatd in Kayah State, scattered in Magway Region and Kachin State, fairly widespread in Sagaing Region and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, MandalayAyeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, (Southern and Eastern) Shan States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 6.58 inches in Hpa-an, 6.55 inches in Bogale,  6.26 inches in Labutta, 5.67 inches in Thaton, 5.12 inches in Pathein, 4.76 inches in Ywangan, 4.18 inches in Phyarpon, 4.06 inches in Dawei, 3.96 inches in Kangyidaunt and 3.54 inches in Mawlamyingyun.

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 12th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin,  Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 10-13 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Isolated heavyfalls in Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.
