BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 06:30 hrs MST today, a low pressure area may form over the South West Bengal and adjoining North Odisha, India. Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal and moderate to strong elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 9th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Magway Region and Kayah state widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Mandalay, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayah, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Tainthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. 

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Eastern Shan States.
