BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the westcentral Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL EVENING OF THE 5th August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in Kachin State, isolated heavyfalls in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Tainthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of strong monsoon over the Andaman Sea and South Bay of Bengal.
