SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah, Nothern Shan States, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Mon, Eastern Shan States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.66 inches in Mogoke, 3.42 inches in Tacheileik, 3.40 inches in Bogale, 3.31 inches in Paung, 2.95 inches in Kyaukphu, 2.80 inches in Dawei, 2.76 inches in Labutta, 2.48 inches in Coco Island, 2.25 inches in Manaung and 2.16 inches in Kyeikkhame.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 3rd August 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Taninthayi Region and Chin States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Mandalay, Sagaing Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 m.p.h. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Upper Sagaing Region and Kachin, Shan States.
