SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay and Lower Sagaing Regions, scattered in Magway Region and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Kayin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Bago Region and Mon State. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 5.94 inches in Manaung, 5.90 inches in Kyaiklat, 5.55 inchesin Mawlamyinegyun, 5.51 inches in Yangon(Mingaladon),  5.38 inches in Ingapu, 5.13 inches in Dedaye, 5.00 inches in Bogale, 4.72  inches in Hmawbi(Agro-Met), 4.69 inches in Khayan,  4.60 inches in Maubin, 4.57 inches in Yangon (Kaba-Aye), 4.35 inches in Kyaukpyu, 4.26 inches in Pantanaw and 4.00 inches in Danubyu. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 30th July 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions, fairly widespread in Kayah State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of regionally heavyfalls in  Ayeyarwady Region and Rakhine State and isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern) Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 mph.  Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of increase of rain in Yangon, Bago,  Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States.

FORECAST FOR NAYPYITAW AND NEIGHBOURING AREA FOR  30thJuly 2026:      One or two rain or thundershowers. Degree of certainty is 100%.
