SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, scattered in Magway Region and Northern Shan State, fairly widespread in Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, TaninthayiRegions and Kachin, Mon, Rakhine States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 7.12 inches in Sittwe, 5.51 inches in Thaton, 4.61 inches in Khayan, 4.13 inches in Belin, 3.66 inches in Putao, 3.23 inches in Yangon(Mingaladon), 3.15 inches in Myeik, 3.08 inches in Ye, 3.03 inches in Kyaukpyu and 2.87 inches in Paung.

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 10:30 hrs MST today, the Depression which crossed between the West of Haldia, west Bengal and the east coast of Digha, India has moved West-Northwestwards and reached over the North Odisha. It is likely to move further West- Northwestwards and may cross the North Odisha, South Jharkhand and North Chhattisgarh, India and then gradually weakend.Monsoon is strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 29th July 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Magway Region and Northern Shan State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Eastern Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 35 mph. Wave height will be about 10-12 feet in Deltaic, off and along Rakhine Coasts. Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 30 mph.  Wave height will be about 8-10 feet in Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of continuation of increase of rain in Bago, Upper Sagaing,  Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States.
