SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Mandalay Region, scattered in Naypyitaw, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Upper Sagaing Region and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Kayin, Mon States. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.41 inches in Hpa-an, 3.62 inches in Thaton, 3.08 inches in Theinzayet, 2.99 inches in Tharrawady, 2.88 inches in Chaungsone, 2.55 inches in Nyaungdon, 2.50 inches in Thabaung, 2.48 inches in Kawthaung and 2.44 inches each in Zalun and Hpa-an(Agro-Met). 

BAY INFERENCE: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the low pressure area over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining North Odisha-West Bengal Coast still persists. It is likely to become more marked. Monsoon is strong to vigorous over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.

Special Features: According to the observations at 12:30 hrs MST today, the Tropical Strom “MAYSAK” over the South China Sea is likely to move North-Northwestwards slowly and may cross Hainan Island during next 24 hours.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 4thJuly 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and Kayah State, fairly widespread in Chin State and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Northern and Eastern)Shan States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: Occasional squalls with rough seas will be experienced off and along Myanmar Coasts. Surface wind speed in squall may reach 30-35 mph. Wave height will be about 9-11 feet off and along Myanmar Coasts.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kayin, Mon, Rakhine States.

WEATHER OUTLOOK FOR WEEKEND: Rain or thundershowers will be widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon Region and scattered in Mandalay Region.
