SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Kayah, Chin States. Rain or thundershowers have been isolated in Bago Region, scattered in Mandalay, Magway, Sagaing Regions and Mon State, fairly widespread in Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Rakhine, Northern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Mandalay Regions. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 3.54 inches in Yangon(Mingaladon), 3.46 inches in Coco Island, 1.93 inches in Phyarpon, 1.90 inches in Myittha, 1.72 inches in Panglong, 1.57 inches in Dawei, 1.49 inches in Myeik, 1.42 inches in Kawthaung, 1.30 inches in Kawkareik and 1.18 inches in Kalewa.
BAY INFERENCE: Southwest monsoon has advanced into the whole country. Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly to cloudy over the Andaman Sea, Eastcentral Bay and South Bay of Bengal and a few cloud elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 5thJune 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Mandalay, Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions, scattered in Naypyitaw, Upper Sagaing Region and Kayah, Chin States, fairly widespread in Bago Region and Kachin, Rakhine States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago, Upper Sagaing, Ayeyarwady, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Increase of rain in Taninthayi Region and Kachin, Kayin, Mon States.
