SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, weather has been partly cloudy in Naypyitaw, Kayah State. Rain or thundershowers have been fairly widespread in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kayin, Mon, Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with isolated heavyfalls in Magway Region. Day temperature were 2°C above May average temperature in Taninthayi Region and 2°C below  May average temperatures in Lower Sagaing Region and Rakhine State, 4°C below  May average temperatures in Upper Sagaing Region and Chin State, 6°C below  May average temperature in Magway Region and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 38.0°C in Tada U(Avia-Met), 37.0°C in Mandalay, 36.7°C in Myinmu, 36.4°C in Sagaing, 36.2°C in Yamethin, 36.0°C in Kyaukse, 35.3°C in Kalewa, 35.0°C each in Naypyitaw(Zayarthiri), Myaungmya and Dawei and 34.7°C in Yeu on 31-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 2.20 inches in Manaung, 1.93 inches in Sinbyugyun, 1.69 inches in Mawlaik, 1.46 inches in Tiddim, 1.34 inches in Kanbalu, 1.25 inches in Shwebo, 1.22 inches each in Bago and Mudon, 1.18 inches in Chauk, 1.11 inches in Lashio and 0.98 inch in Mingin. 

BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay, Eastcentral and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is a few cloud over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and elsewhere over the Bay of Bengal.

FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 2nd June 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be isolated in Naypyitaw, Kayah State, scattered in Yangon, Mandalay, Bago, Magway, Ayeyarwady Regions, fairly widespread in Kayin, Mon, Rakhine, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin States. Degree of certainty is 100%.

THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Sagaing, Taninthayi Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine, Shan States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.

STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coast.

OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Continuations of thundery activities in the Northern Myanmar areas.
