SUMMARY OF OBSERVATIONS RECORDED FROM YESTERDAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T TODAY MORNING 09:30 hrs M.S.T: During the past 24 hours, rain or thundershowers have been scattered in Kayah State, fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, MonEastern Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with regionally heavyfalls in Magway, Lower Sagaing Regions and isolated heavyfalls in Mandalay Region. Day temperature were 2°C above May average temperatures in Taninthayi Region and Kachin State, 2°C below May average temperatures in Naypyitaw, Yangon, Bago Regions, 3°C below May average temperatures in Magway Region and Chin State and about May average temperatures in the remaining Regions and States. The significant day temperatures were 40.0°C in Myinmu, 38.2°C in Myingyan, 38.0°C each in Sagaing and Yeu, 37.8°C in Tada U(Avia-Met), 37.0°C in Monywa, 36.0°C each in Mandalay and Shwebo, 35.8°C in Kalewa and 35.5°C in Kanbalu on 30-5-2026. The noteworthy amount of rainfall recorded were 4.17 inches in Sinbyugyun, 3.74 inches in Thayat, 3.14 inches in Chauk, 2.95 inches in Manaung, 2.48 inches each in Yeu and Kyaukpyu, 2.05 inches each in Kyaukpadaung and Shwebo, 1.89 inches in Shwegu and 1.54 inches in Mogaung.
BAY INFERENCE: Monsoon is moderate to strong over the Andaman Sea, South Bay, Eastcentral and Northeast Bay of Bengal. Weather is partly cloudy to cloudy over the Andaman Sea and Bay of Bengal.
FORECAST VALID UNTIL MORNING OF THE 1st June 2026: Rain or thundershowers will be fairly widespread in Naypyitaw, Mandalay, Region and Kayah, (Southern and Eastern)Shan States and widespread in the remaining Regions and States with likelihood of isolated heavyfalls in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Lower Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Chin, Rakhine States. Degree of certainty is 100%.
THE CONDITION OF CUMULONIMBUS CLOUD: The Cumulonimbus clouds are developing in Yangon, Bago, Magway, Sagaing, Ayeyarwady Regions and Kachin, Chin, Rakhine States. The area along the Cumulonimbus clouds movement, the weather phenomena such as strong winds accompanied with rain, thunder, lightning and hail may occur and therefore it is recommended to be aware in advance these phenomena.
STATE OF THE SEA: STATE OF THE SEA: Squalls with moderate to rough seas are likely at times in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Surface wind speed in squalls may reach 25-30 mph. Wave height will be about 7-9 feet in Deltaic, Gulf of Mottama, off and along Mon-Taninthayi Coasts. Sea will be moderate elsewhere in Myanmar waters. Wave height will be about 6-8 feet off and along Rakhine Coast.
OUTLOOK FOR SUBSEQUENT TWO DAYS: Likelihood of advancement of Southwest monsoon into the Northern Myanmar areas.
